Forecasters are giving a broad area of low pressure in the Bay of Campeche a medium chance of developing into at least a tropical depression over the next five days. State Climatologist Barry Keim says the disturbance is expected to stay in the southern Gulf of Mexico for the next couple of days before heading north…

LSU’s baseball season is over and so is the career of hall of fame coach Paul Mainieri as Tennessee completed a super-regional series sweep of the Tigers beating the Bayou Bengals 15-6. LSU finished with a 38-25 record and Mainieri says his players battled all season…

Governor Edwards is expected to sign legislation to provide grants to low and middle-income workers 21 and older who want to go to a community or technical college. Only those making about 38,000 dollars or less a year are eligible. Louisiana Community and Technical College System President Monty Sullivan says Individuals who meet the requirements can be awarded up to 3,200 dollars a year and 6,400 dollars total.

Shreveport Representative Alan Seabaugh says he’s filed a police report against Bogalousa Representative Malinda White for allegedly threatening gun violence against him on the House floor last week. Seabaugh says White is guilty of simple battery or assault and says if he had done the same thing, he’d be tossed out.
