Despite a 13-17 record in the SEC, LSU received an invite into the NCAA Tournament and is the third seed in the Eugene Regional and will face Gonzaga on Friday night. There was some doubt that LSU would receive a Regional after losing to Georgia in its lone SEC Tournament game. LSU pitcher Landon Marceaux is excited their season continues and so does the coaching career of Paul Mainieri, who has announced his retirement…

Oregon and Central Connecticut are the other two teams in the Regional. The Ducks are a 14-seed nationally.

Louisiana Tech is a 16-seed nationally and they will host North Carolina State, Alabama and Rider this weekend. The Bulldogs will play the Broncos on Friday.

The McNeese baseball team is heading to Forth Worth, Texas for regional play after winning the Southland Conference tournament. Lake Charles was hit hard by Hurricane Laura last fall and head coach Justin Hill says his team had to overcome many obstacles.

McNeese joins the Forth Worth regional along with TCU, Oregon State, and Dallas Baptist.

The Southern Jaguars will play in the Austin Regional and play against the number two national seed Texas. The other regional pairing is Fairfield versus Arizona State.

In football, former LSU tight end A’rik Gilbert reportedly plans to continue his college football playing days at Georgia.
