The LSU baseball team faces a must-win game tonight after dropping last night’s series opener to Texas A-and-M. Aggies first baseman Will Frizzell hit his 19th home run of the season in the eight ininng to give A-and-M a two-to one lead and that turned out to be the final score. LSU had just two hits. The Tigers need to win the final two games of the series in order to get to 13 SEC wins, which might be enough to get them an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Cajuns fell behind six to nothing to Troy last night and lost to the Trojans six to five. So if U-T Arlington wins tonight or if U-L Lafayette losses, the Mavericks will win the Sun Belt West Division.

Louisiana Tech fell to Old Dominion ten to eight last night at J-C Love Field despite a three-hit night from Hunter Wells. The two teams will conclude their regular season tonight with a single game at 6 PM and then week the Bulldogs will host the Conference USA Tournament.

The Baton Rouge Softball Regional is underway at Tiger Park as LSU is taking on McNeese. At 5:30, U-L Lafayette will face George Washington. The Cajuns are 44-and-10 and Coach Gerry Glasco’s team has won nine of its last ten…

The winner of today’s two games will face each other tomorrow at 2 PM in a winner’s bracket game.

After losing a tough two to one pitcher’s duel to Prairive View A-and-M last night, Southern rebounded this afternoon to beat Alcorn State ten to five. The Jaguars will face Prairie View again tonight. Grambling is taking on Jackson State today after beating Texas Southern five to two this morning.

And McNeese can qualify for a spot in the Southland Tournament if they can beat Central Arkansas. The Cowboys lost to the Bears eight to one yesterday.
