The LSU baseball team is scheduled to host Northwestern State tonight for its final non-conference game of the year. The forecast does not look good as over an inch of rain could fall in Baton Rouge today. Coach Paul Mainieri says they will try hard to make sure this game is played.

If the Tigers win tonight, they will go undefeated in mid-week games this season.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30.

The Ragin Cajuns were supposed to play at UNO against the Privateers tonight but that game has been postponed due to weather.

The offseason has begun for the Pelicans who finished the 2020-21 season with a 31-41 record.  New Orleans Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin is not happy they didn’t make the playoffs.

The Louisiana Senate has unanimously approved a bill that would allow college athletes to profit off of their name, image, and likeness. The bill will now go to the house for full approval. Several other states like Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi have passed a similar law.

LSU outfielder Gavin Dugas was named Co- SEC player of the week for his performance this weekend.  Dugas batted .429 against Alabama with a double, two homeruns, eight RBI’s and 5 runs scored.  He leads all Tigers with 57 RBI’s.
