Five Tigers had multiple hits and four home runs were hit, including the first two of the season from center fielder Giovanni DiGiacomo.

LSU left fielder Gavin Dugas was named SEC Co-player of the Week. He hit two home runs over the weekend. Louisiana Tech third baseman Hunter Wells was named the Conference USA’s Co-Hitter of the Week as he was 10-for-18 at the plate with one home run, seven runs scored and 5 RBI.

The Pelicans finished out the season last night with a 110 to 98 defeat to the Lakers. They ended the year on a four-game losing streak and with many of their starters watching from the bench because of injuries, including Zion Williamson, who after two seasons in the NBA is still waiting to play in his first playoff game…

We’ll see who comes back next season. Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart are restricted free agents and the Pels could look to trade Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams.

LSU softball is a number seven national seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host a Regional this weekend that will also feature McNeese, U-L Lafayette and George Washington. The Tigers are 32-19 on the season, but they have an R-P-I of six. Meanwhile, the Cajuns and Cowgirls won their respective conference tournaments. The action gets underway Friday at Tiger Park.
