The LSU baseball team got a big win yesterday as they defeated Alabama 13 to 5 to clinch the series over the Crimson Tide and to keep their hopes alive of receiving an NCAA Tournament bid. The Tigers had 16 hits and hit four home runs. Giovanni DiGiacomo hit two home runs, his first two of the season. LSU hosts Northwestern State tomorrow night. The Demons lost to Stephen F Austin seven to two yesterday.

With one more weekend left in the college baseball season, the Ragin Cajuns are one game back of U-T-A for first place in the Sun Belt West Division after taking two of three of the Mavericks.

Louisiana Tech is champions of the Conference USA West division after beating UTSA 17-7 in seven innings coupled with Florida Atlantic defeating Southern Miss. Bulldogs Coach Lane Burroughs says they found out about the Golden Eagles loss during their game…

By taking three of four from U-T-S-A, Tech is still in decent shape to host an NCAA Baseball Regional.

In softball, LSU is a seven national seed and will host U-L Lafayette and McNeese in a regional this weekend at Tiger Park. The Tigers will face the Cowgirls on Friday afternoon and the Lady Cajuns will meet George Washington at 5:30.

The Pelicans season ended yesterday with a loss to the Lakers 110 to 98. New Orleans finishes with a record 31 and 41.
