The list of candidates of those vying to be the next president at LSU is now down to seven men after the lone female-semifinalist withdrew her name from consideration today. Mary Ann Rankin a professor at the University of Maryland was scheduled to be interviewed via live stream today for the job.

Louisiana reportedly has one million COVID vaccine doses sitting in coolers as demand for the shot has declined rapidly. The ongoing public health emergency declaration is set to expire Wednesday. Governor John Bel Edwards says the last restrictions won’t get lifted until enough people get vaccinated.

New Orleans Senator Troy Carter defeated fellow Democrat Karen Carter Peterson in Saturday’s run-off to represent the state’s Second Congressional district. JMC Analytics Pollster John Couvillon says it was the white vote that gave him a victory and even though it’s a predominately Democratic district Carter will have to advocate for conservatives in his district also.
