The LSU baseball team got swept by Tennessee in Knoxville this in a three-game weekend series.  The Tigers lost game one 3-1 before dropping game 2 9-8 in 11 innings and fell to the Vols in game three 3-2 in eight innings.  Even though LSU was winless this weekend, coach Paul Mainieri says his team fought hard.

After going 0 for 3 this weekend, LSU has now dropped out of every top 25 college baseball poll.

The Louisiana Tech baseball team took three out of four games this weekend against Southern Miss on the road in Hattiesburg.  Tech has now won seven of the last eight games and after a good performance in the weekend series, the Bulldogs are now ranked 17th in the latest D1 Baseball poll.

ULM lost two of three to Texas State. Southeastern Louisiana swept Lamar in a four-game series to move into first place in the Southland, while McNeese was swept by Stephen F Austin.

Several female lawmakers remain upset with LSU over its handling of previous sexual misconduct cases at LSU. During another marathon hearing on Friday, Monroe Senator Katrina Jackson ripped into school officials for not informing the public and students that former football coach Les Miles was told he can not be alone with female students…

Jackson also noted that Miles was issued a state-purchased cell phone so that his communications could be monitored in case he attempted to contact more students.

Louisiana Tech men’s basketball ended its season with a 76-74 win over Colorado State in the consolation game of the NIT. Freshman Kenneth Lofton had a career-high 27 points and scored the winning basket with point-three seconds left.

The New Orleans Pelicans are on the road tonight as they take on the Boston Celtics at 6:30. The Pels are coming off a win against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday and are looking for a second straight victory.
