The Pelicans pulled of their biggest win of the season last night as they defeated the Utah Jazz 129 to 124 as Zion Williamson led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds. The Jazz had a five point lead at halftime, but Williamson scored 15 points in the third quarter to give New Orleans the lead for good. Brandon Ingram also had 26 points and five assists.

The LSU men’s basketball team looks to snap a two game losing streak tonight when they host Vanderbilt, who has the worst record in the SEC at three and eleven. A loss against the Commodores could put the Tigers back on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

The Southland Conference has announced its expanding its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments from eight to ten teams. In action last night, Nicholls knocked off Northwestern State 87-71. In the SWAC, Mississippi Valley State upset Grambling 67-63.

In the latest D-1 baseball poll, the top four teams are from the SEC. Arkansas is number one followed by Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. LSU is ranked 11th. Through seven games, the Tigers have hit 15 home runs. Drew Bianco has two homers in eight at-bats. Bianco entered the transfer portal in the offseason and he says the experience motivated him….

Also tonight, the Cajuns host Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs are coming off a sweep over Southern, while U-L Lafayette swept Rice.

Sun Belt football teams released their schedules for next season. UL-Lafayette is not scheduled to play Coastal Carolina, while ULM finishes its season by visiting LSU and the Cajuns.
