The New Orleans Pelicans beat the Memphis Grizzlies last night by a score of 144-113.  Forwards Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram had 31 and 22 points respectively.  New Orleans continued to be super-efficient on the offensive end, as they shot over 61 percent from the field.  After the game, head coach Stan Van Gundy credits the offensive efficiency to Ingram and Williamson’s willingness to pass the ball.

The Pels’ next game is scheduled for tonight against Portland at home at 8 p.m.

The LSU men’s basketball game against Ole Miss that was scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed due to icy weather that is moving throughout the region.  A makeup date for the game has not yet been determined.  The Tigers are still scheduled to play on Saturday at 3 p.m. against the Auburn Tigers in Baton Rouge at 3 p.m.

Because of extreme winter weather throughout the state, Northwestern State’s men’s and women’s basketball games scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed.  The Demons were slated to play Nicholls in Thibodeaux while the Lady Demons were set to host Nicholls inside Prather Coliseum.  The schools are working on possible dates for rescheduling.

Due to cold weather in New Orleans on Friday night, the Ragin Cajuns first baseball game of the season has been moved up and will now be played at 2 p.m. against Tulane instead of at 6.  Saturday’s game will also begin at 2 while first pitch Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Southeastern Louisiana men’s basketball team’s game against Texas A&M Corpus-Christi has been rescheduled for Monday night at 6:30.  The Lions are still slated to host Abilene Christian Saturday at 4 p.m.   The Lions are 6-13 on the year.

The LSU women’s basketball game against Kentucky has scheduled for Thursday has been pushed postponed to Friday the 19th.  The game was canceled due to extreme weather conditions across the southeast region of the country.
