Former LSU star tight end Airk Gilbert posted on Twitter last night he’s transferring to the University of Florida. In eight games last season, Gilbert had 35 catches for 368 yards and two touchdowns.

The LSU basketball team suffered a tough loss on Saturday to Texas Tech as the Red Raiders scored the final 12 points to beat the Bayou Bengals 76-71. Terrence Shannon came off the bench to score 23 points to lead the Red Raiders. Shannon had a critical steal and score on an inbound pass to give Texas Tech a one-point lead with 23 seconds left. The Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball team has moved into first place in the Sun Belt West Division as the Cajuns took two from Texas State this past weekend. On Saturday U-L Lafayette beat the Bobcats 74-73 as Devin Butts stole an in-bounds pass and scored with less than a second left to give the Cajuns a dramatic win.

Louisiana Tech is in third place in the Conference USA West division after winning two games over Southern Miss last week. The Bulldogs will visit North Texas on Friday and Saturday. The Mean Green and UAB are tied for first place in the West Division with just one conference loss. Tech Coach Eric Konkol says North Texas will be another tough challenge…
