Opelousas Senator Elbert Guillory files a constitutional amendment that would let voters decide if life begins at conception. The legislation is referred to as “personhood” and although similar proposals have failed to pass in other states, Guillory likes his chances in Louisiana….

Guillory’s proposed change to the constitution would give unborn children the same legal rights that all other people enjoy.

An Alexandria man is behind bars on felony stalking charges after allegedly continuously harassing a female victim. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Tommy Carnline says because 47-year-old Christopher Charles Lammons’ charges are domestic in nature, a new law that went into affect last year mandates that he stay in jail without bond under “Gwen’s Law”…:

Baton Rouge Police say a pregnant woman is in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle during a domestic dispute. Authorities say the suspect was involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend and his pregnant girlfriend. At some point, they say the suspect returned to her vehicle and ran over the pregnant woman. The victim was rushed to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The condition of the baby is unknown. No arrests have been made at this time.
