Amite City native and Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith was awarded the Heisman Trophy last night. Smith is the first receiver to win the award since Desmond Howard did it in 1991.

Orgeron reportedly interviewed Carolina Panthers quarterback coach Jake Peetz and offensive assistant DJ Mangas yesterday and Coach O plans to talk with University of Cincinnati defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman on Thursday.
