Bowden also had a successful three-year stint at North Alabama. His last head coaching job was at Akron where he went 32-and-52 in seven seasons. Akron fired Bowden after the 2018 season.

LSU has announced offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger and defensive line coach Bill Johnson are retiring as on-field coaches and they will become analysts. So now Coach Ed Orgeron has to find both an offensive and defensive coordinator.
