A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries investigation continues into a fatal boat wreck on the Pearl River in St. Tammany Parish. The incident claimed the life of 41-year-old Terry O’ Keefe Junior of Folsum. L-D-W-F spokesperson Adam Einck says three children were on the boat, who survived because they wore life jackets. He says a 16-year-old came upon the scene and tried to drag two of the children and their mother to safety…

A report from the National Wildlife Federation provides evidence that sea turtles, dolphins, fish, and birds are still suffering from the BP oil spill that occurred nearly five years ago. Lead author of the report, Ryan Fikes, says the number of Kemp’s ridley sea turtle nests have declined on average since 2010…

Fikes says the report also found that dolphins on the Louisiana coast were found dead at four times the historic rates in 2014.

State Police say two people are dead, including a 5-year-old, after a fatal crash in Lafayette Parish. They says the crash happened just before 8AM just north of Carencro. Authorities say the child was unrestrained at the time of the crash. There are reports of other injuries that occurred in the crash, but no details have been released. The investigation is continuing.
