Lane Kiffin was formally announced as LSU’s 37th head coach this afternoon. Kiffin has signed a 7-year deal worth 91-million-dollars. In his introductory press conference, Kiffin says that LSU stood out.

The Southern Jaguars introduced former NFL running back and Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk as its next head coach today. Faulk, who was a running backs coach at Colorado becomes the 22nd head coach in Southern program history. The New Orleans native says he is happy to be back in Louisiana.

Jon Sumrall has announced that he’s leaving Tulane to take the head coaching job at Florida. Unlike the Lane Kiffin saga at Ole Miss, there was no drama at Tulane as to whether Sumrall would be able to finish the season with the Green Wave. Tulane Athletic Director Harris notes that Sumrall’s situation is very different from Kiffin’s.
The Green Wave hosts North Texas on Friday for the American Athletic Conference Championship.
