LSU interim head football coach Frank Wilson says quarterbacks Garrett Nussmeier and Michael Van Buren will both play this Saturday against Arkansas. Former LSU head coach Brian Kelly rejected two settlement offers of 25 and 30 million dollars. Kelly is seeking the full buyout and his attorney has given LSU a deadline of 6 p.m. tonight to confirm in writing that they’ll pay him the full 54 million dollars he’s owed under the terms of his contract.

The LSU men’s basketball team returns to action tonight as the Tigers host the University of New Orleans at 7 p.m. UNO upset TCU in its first game of the season.

Despite losing one of his best receivers to the trade deadline, Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough completed 19 out of 27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns in earning his first NFL win as a starting quarterback in just his second career start. After the game, Shough said it felt great to get his first career win.

The Sun Belt Conference has issued suspensions for six Texas State players and seven Louisiana players, including senior and starting safety Tyree Skipper, who will be suspended for the remainder of the 2025.  Courtline Flowers, Kody Jackson, Kailep Edwards, Collin Jacob, Evan Stroman and De’Antonio Leseur will serve one-game suspensions. The suspensions result from a postgame incident which followed the conclusion of the 42-39 UL win. UL-Lafayette has released a statement saying they understand the leagues decision to hold those involved accountable for their actions.

After losing a close game to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, the Pelicans return to play as they face the Phoenix Suns at 8 p.m.  Zion Williamson is out with a left hamstring strain, and Jordan Poole is out with a left quad strain. The Pelicans are 2 and 7 on the year.
