New Orleans will be without center Eric McCoy and running back Kendre Miller for the rest of the year after both suffered season-ending injuries on Sunday. McCoy tore has a torn biceps and Miller tore his ACL. Head coach Kellen Moore says the team will have to find a way to be productive without them.

The LSU Tigers are 5-2 following a loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday. The fan base has been very critical of head coach Brian Kelly following the season. Going into the season, the Tigers were considered a national championship contender, but another loss and the Tigers will likely miss out on the college football playoff. Kelly says he understands everyone’s frustration.
Kelly announced that starting left tackle will not play against Texas A&M this week after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday’s game at Vanderbilt.
UL-Lafayette’s basketball team was picked to finish ninth out of fourteen teams in the Sun Belt Conference. Quannas (KWAH-nus) White takes over for the Cajuns after spending eight years at Houston as an assistant under Kelvin Sampson. Last year, the Cajuns finished eleventh in conference play after going 8-10.
McNeese sophomore quarterback Jake Strong has been named this week’s Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his productive outing in the 27-0 win over Houston Christian. Strong tied a McNeese single-game record for most rushing touchdowns scored by a quarterback with three. Strong rushed for a career-high 108 yards on 16 carries. Strong also completed 14-of-22 passes for 133 yards and an interception.
The Southeastern football team moved up three spots to No. 19 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll after defeating Northwestern State 49-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Lions are still right outside of the Stats Perform FCS Top 25, but are receiving votes.
