Quarterback Jaxson Dart was drafted 25th overall by the New York Giants in this year’s NFL Draft. Dart says that he’s going into Sunday’s game against the Saints with an extra chip on his shoulder.

Cut 19 (14) “…like that happens.”

Saints rookie cornerback Quincy Riley is expected to make his first start against the Giants on Sunday. Riley was drafted in the fourth round at pick 131. Kickoff in New Orleans is at noon.

It’s homecoming on the Northwestern State campus this weekend as the Demons host East Texas A&M in the Southland opener for both teams. The Lions are winless on the season, and Northwestern Coach Blaine McCorkle says his defense has prepared to play two different quarterbacks.

The Demons kickoff in Turpin Stadium at 6 p.m.

Southeastern is 3-2 after coming off of a 45-31 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley. The Lions play two quarterbacks on offense, junior Carson Camp and sophomore Kyle Lowe. Head coach Frank Scelfo commends the two quarterbacks for being able to make such a difficult system work.

The Lions continue with Southland play as they face McNeese State in Lake Charles on Saturday. Kickoff at Navarre Stadium is at 6 p.m.

ULM is back on the road this weekend as they take on Northwestern in their final non-conference game this season. The Warhawks are coming off of a huge win against Arkansas State and are looking to keep momentum against the Wildcats. Kickoff in Evanston is at 2:30 p.m.

After a 27-7 loss to Eastern Kentucky, Nicholls looks to bounce back against Lamar on Saturday at 3 p.m.
