The title game will be played at the Caesar’s Superdome and it will be the first time a college football national championship has been in New Orleans since 2020, when LSU defeated Clemson by a score of 42-25. Louisiana Tech head football coach Sonny Cumbie announced on the Tim Fletcher Show senior linebacker Kolbe Fields will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering a knee injury which will require surgery in the Bulldogs 30-11 win over UTEP. Fields was one of the best defensive players in the Conference USA, totaling 39 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions through five games.
