LSU football coach Brian Kelly says Garrett Nussmeier will play Saturday night against Southeastern Louisiana despite a torso injury. It’s an injury Nussmeier suffered during preseason camp, and Kelly says Nuss is feeling better after being slowed down in practice for the past couple of weeks.

Southeastern will have to face a struggling LSU offense that’s looking to bounce back this weekend after scoring only one offensive touchdown against Florida. Head coach Frank Scelfo says that his defense will be challenged when it faces quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.

Cut 18 (21) “…stabilize it.”

Tulane travels to Oxford this weekend to face number 13 ranked Ole Miss. The Green Wave will have to prepare for two quarterbacks as the Rebels played both senior Trinidad Chambliss and sophomore Austin Simmons against Arkansas. Simmons only played one drive due to an ankle sprain, but is expected to play this week. Head coach Jon Sumrall says that Simmons possesses rare talent.

Cut 20 (13) “…runner too.”

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin had high praise for Sumrall during the SEC teleconference and Kiffin said that he expects Sumrall to land an elite SEC coaching job this offseason.

The SEC announced that Florida running backs coach Jabbar Juluke has been suspended for three games for his involvement in a pregame altercation before Florida’s 20-10 loss to LSU. Cameras captured Juluke slapping LSU redshirt freshman safety Joel Rogers. Juluke was LSU’s running backs coach in 2016 and started his coaching career at Edna Karr High School.
