LSU head coach Brian Kelly announced that quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has been dealing with a torso injury since fall camp. Kelly said that the injury was one that came from Nussmeier overworking himself during the offseason and he says that Nussmeier’s injury is one that the Tigers have to be careful with.
Tiger Rag editor Glenn Guilbeau says that the injury has prevented Nussmeier from throwing the deep pass.
A day after earning SEC Defensive Player of the Week, LSU sophomore safety Dashawn Spears has been named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week after hauling in two interceptions in the 20-10 win over Florida.
Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler improved his play much more in week two in the 26-21 loss to San Francisco. Rattler completed 25-of-his-34 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns. On the Saints coaches show on the Saints Radio Network, head coach Kellen Moore says that he is excited about Rattler and the other quarterback’s development.

The Saints received more bad injury news earlier this week. Third-round pick and defensive tackle Vernon Broughton is expected to miss the rest of the 2025 season after suffering a hip injury in the loss to the 49ers. Broughton is reportedly getting multiple opinions before deciding on season-ending surgery. He played in 24 snaps against San Francisco and had three tackles.
