Lafourche Parish deputies arrested 19-year-old Tyaliah Adams for possessing a gun in the parking lot of the Thibodaux High School football stadium. Adams allegedly brandished the firearm during an altercation between two males. Authorities say when she showed the gun, everyone fled the scene.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old Precious Hicks was convicted on drug trafficking charges and she has a lengthy criminal history.

Ground has been broken on the long awaited Jimmie Davis Bridge Replacement project in south Bossier City and Shreveport. The new bridge will have two more lanes, a median, and three spaces for U-turns; and the old bridge will be converted into a walking bridge. The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s has arrested a Pitkin woman for murder after she allegedly killed her husband. Deputies say 53-year-old Melissa Ann Sweat called authorities and they responded to a home in Pitkin and found 61-year-old Rodney Sweat dead. Melissa Ann Sweat was taken into custody. No details on what led to the shooting.
