Lawmen in north Louisiana are on the lookout for the man suspected of committing a murder on the Grambling University campus Wednesday morning. State Police Master Trooper Michael Reichardt says 19-year-old Delhi resident Jatavious Carroll (also known as “Rabbit”) shot two teenagers at an unsanctioned party. One of them, 19-year-old Demarius Murphy, of Rayville, died. Reichardt says a BOLO is out for Carroll for murder, attempted murder and more…:

A week after Lafayette’s Police Chief Thomas Glover was fired, he called in to Mayor Josh Guillory’s weekly radio show on KPEL; accusing the mayor of firing him without cause. Glover says he’s been told Guillory is now questioning people in the department and community looking for a reason to say he was terminated…:

Four of five violent teen offenders who escaped from a juvenile detention center in Baton Rouge have been caught, but the search is still on for the fifth. The group attacked and stabbed some guards to make their escape, then stole a vehicle. The guards were treated for minor injuries.

Amid some talk that Shreveport Mardi Gras krewes might move their parades to Bossier City next year, the Mayor of Bossier has come forward with official word on that, and the word is “no”.  Mayor Tommy Chandler says taking on the parades is “not in the best interest of the citizens of Bossier City.”

A week after Lafayette’s Police Chief Thomas Glover was fired, he called in on Mayor Josh Guillory’s weekly radio show on KPEL accusing the mayor of firing him without cause. A reason has never been given as to Glover’s firing and Guillory only refers to it as a personnel matter. Glover however says he along with the community deserves an explanation.

Wayne Griffin has been named interim chief and instead of answering Glover’s questions, Guillory wanted to sing the praises of interim Chief Griffin and tout his loyalty to the city.

Glover was fired from the department on October 7^th.

Two contract employees at the BASF plant in Geismar were taken to a local hospital. A spokesperson for the plant says the two employees were exposed to an unknown substance and the Louisiana State Police Hazmat unit is responding to the scene.

And funeral services will be held tomorrow morning in Baton Rouge for Master Trooper Adam Gaubert who was gunned down last Saturday in the line of duty.

An FDA advisory committee voted to recommend a third offering of the Moderna COVID vaccine on Thursday. Dr. Lucio Miele, Assistant Dean for Translational Science at LSU Health New Orleans says the committee has advised the FDA to give emergency use authorization to the Moderna booster shot which is actually a half dose of the vaccine.

AAA research has found that vehicles equipped with lane-keeping assistance departed their lane 69-percent of the time when it was raining and test vehicles with automatic emergency braking collided with a stopped vehicle 33-percent of the time in the rain. AAA spokesperson Don Redman says their research also found automatic braking systems have difficulty seeing pedestrians at lower speeds…
