New Orleans officials say shortened parade routes will be used again for Mardi Gras 2023. The Mayor’s Mardi Gras Advisory Panel made the announcement Thursday night. The City sites the shortage of police manpower to properly patrol and protect the traditionally longer routes. Two Baton Rouge teens accused of plotting the murder of one’s mother will be held without bond. The 16-year-old girls allegedly convinced a 16-year-old boy to pull the trigger. 33-year-old Markeshia Stone was shot to death Wednesday. A judge denied them bail this morning.

Animal shelters in Louisiana are at maximum capacity, and animal advocates say things aren’t getting better. Humane Society of Louisiana Director Jeff Dorson says, in their 34-year history, they’ve never experienced such an influx of owner-surrendered animals…:

A SWAT team deployed a robot into the house and Senegal says that’s when they discovered the naked man whom police shot deceased in the home.
