The family of LSU Safety Greg Brooks Jr. released a statement this morning explaining he had not been playing due to emergency surgery he had last Friday to remove a large brain tumor. Brooks missed the Mississippi State game and had been ruled out for Arkansas Saturday. Three employees of the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office were hospitalized Monday after a possible fentanyl exposure in the evidence room. The department’s evidence supervisor remains hospitalized. Public Information Officer Mark Pierce says they brought in a Hazmat Team Monday night after the office was closed.

WBRSO says they received a call from a woman who said she was being held against her will.  A chase across the Mississippi River Bridge ended with Smith’s car crashing on Plaza Americana Drive, he faces multiple charges including second-degree kidnapping.

The driver fled, crashed, and gave them a fake name. St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne says fingerprints revealed Emde’s identity and arrest record.
