Entergy is bringing advanced meters to the company’s customers.  The roll out for homes and businesses starts this month in New Orleans.  Entergy VP of grid modernization Lauren Kenney says advanced meters are used around the world and offer a variety of benefits to customers, including a quicker rebound from power outages.

Cut 6 (06) “…done more quickly.”

Between the four states Entergy serves, Kenney estimates they’ll have about one million meters rolled out by the end of 2019.

Kenney says among the biggest benefits for customers is to be able to track energy usage via online tools, as opposed to waiting for the bill to come in at the end of the month, which means a monetary savings for customers.
