LSU running back Trey Holly posted on social media on Saturday night that he is 100-percent innocent of the charges that he faces. Holly is one of three people facing an attempted second-degree murder charge for a shooting that injured two others in Farmerville on February ninth. Holly says he was not involved in this shooting.

The LSU baseball team scored 27 runs on 27 hits in a 27-5 win over VMI. The 27 hits ties a 34-year-old school record and 20 of the hits were singles, which is a school record. Freshman second baseman Steven Milam had four hits.

Louisiana Tech is 4-0 after sweeping Northern Colorado. The Cajuns took two of three from Wright, ULM dropped it series with Missouri state. Nicholls outscored Sacred Heart 19 to 12 yesterday, while Northwestern State fell to Southern Illinois 15-11.

A measure to allow people who are 18 or older to carry a concealed gun without a permit will be discussed in the special session on crime that begins today. New Orleans representative Mandie Landry believes training should be required to carry a gun.

In 2021, the bill passed the House and Senate but Governor John Bel Edwards vetoed the measure, Landry expects the measure will pass this year.

A new Tulane study paints a sobering picture of the state’s coast as the report says if nothing is done about the rising sea level over the next 10 to 20 years, then the state would lose a vast majority of its wetlands by the end of the century. Tulane Geology Professor Tornbjorn Tornqvist says there is hope for a more favorable outcome, if immediate action is taken…

A new study out of Tulane finds the state could probably lose the vast majority of its wetlands if nothing is done over the next 10 to 20 years to slow the rate of sea level rise. In a post on the social media platform X, Holly says he’s been falsely identified, accused, and arrested. Holly says he was at home which is where the incident took place. The all-time leading rusher in Louisiana high school football history says he turned himself in because he was notified of the arrest warrant and Holly says he wanted to cooperate fully with the investigation.

Viso says if you’ve never watched the show, participants bring an array of antiques, collectibles, family heirlooms, and even sports memorabilia to be appraised by experts. He says you can always count on Louisiana episodes to be colorful and unique.

Because of controversy around the state’s public defender system, the governor is seeking to establish a state public defender’s office under his authority. Reese says this will overhaul and streamline the public defense system.

Criminal justice reforms approved in 2016 required offenders under 17 to be charged as juveniles for non-violent crimes. But Reese says with juvenile crimes on the rise, current laws are not working.

The Latest survey by the National Federation of Independent Business indicates expectations for higher sales among small business owners decreased in January. That same survey also found that 39 percent of owners reported that hard to fill job openings have had a significant impact on their business. NFIB State Director Dawn McVea says it’s a battle for survival.

With a special session set to begin Monday, Louisiana lawmakers are looking to strengthen penalties. Louisiana has seen a rise in the number of fentanyl deaths in recent years. Metairie Representative Laurie Schlegel says her new legislation cracks down on people who make fentanyl appealing to minors.

A man accused of killing a man on Canal Street in New Orleans has been arrested now in Miami. NOPD confirms the arrest of 38 year old Kendrick McGee. McGee is accused in the fatal shooting of Timothy Sames in November of last year. McGee is currently in the custody of Miami-Dade County Correctional officials awaiting extradition to the Crescent City.
