Governor Landry held a bill signing ceremony this morning where he signed legislation including a bill that would make possession of two drugs to induce an abortion a crime. The two drugs that are also used to treat other medical conditions, will be considered controlled substances.

U-S House Speaker Mike Johnson says he would not count out Republican Garret Graves if he ran for re-election in the reconfigured 6th Congressional District, which is a new majority Black District for the 2024 federal elections. Johnson says Graves has represented Louisiana well during his five terms in the U-S House…

LSU will leave for North Carolina tomorrow and must submit a roster of 27 players before the Regional Starts.

Nicholls and Tulane have long flights in front of them as they will head to the Pacific Northwest to compete in the Corvallis. Oregon Regional. The Green Wave is the four seed and will play the Beavers, while the Colonels face U-C Irvine.

Louisiana Tech is headed to Fayetteville Regional and will play Kansas State on Friday.

The Ragin Cajuns are in the NCAA Tournament for the 19th time and for the second time in three years they’ll play in the College Station Regional as they will take on Texas at 5 PM. Coach Matt Deggs’ team won the Sun Belt Regular season championship, but went 0-and-2 in the conference tournament

Houma police caught a 12-and-a-half-foot python over the weekend after a resident discovered it curled up in a flowerpot. Police Chief Travis Theriot explains…

The snake is believed to be a former pet released into the wild. No humans were injured but the python did eat two pet geese.

It looks like the chances of holding a Constitutional Convention are slim, the convention bill is unlikely to reach the Senate this session. LAPolitics-dot-com publisher Jeremy Alford says lawmakers are running out of time, but a convention could orchestrated through a special session or House intervention.

Two out of the four inmates who escaped from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail over the weekend have been apprehended. At a news conference authorities says jail officials didn’t know they had escaped until a family member called about one of the escapees, that call came after one visited a relative seeking shelter.

Louisiana Tech has made it to the NCAA Baseball Tournament for a 11th time as the Bulldogs will compete in the Fayeteville Regional, hosted by Arkansas, who is a number five national seed. The Diamond Dogs will will face Kansas State at 7 PM. The Wildcats are 32-and-24 this year.

Tulane and Nicholls are both headed to the same regional and they will play in Corvallis, Oregon. The Coloens are the three-seed and will take on U-C Irvine. The Green Wave are the number one seed and they’ll play Oregon State.

And Grambling is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010 and they’ll play Texas A-and-M in the College Station Regional at noon on Friday.

In football, at the close of spring practice, LSU Coach Brian Kelly said he may add a punter in the transfer portal as he was not happy with Peyton Todd’s lack of consistency. Louisiana Tech punter Blake Ochsendorf has announced he plans on transferring to LSU. Ochsendorf led Conference USA in punting average last season.
