The Bossier Parish man who was convicted of killing his estranged wife, then dumping her burned remains in Webster Parish has been sentenced to 40 years in prison at hard labor. Monroe Police have arrested a man wanted for murder for an argument over a cell phone. The victim-James Atwell-who was injured in the attack at his apartment complex-died yesterday morning and twenty year-old Christopher Robinson was booked on 2nd-degree murder charges.

Authorities announce the arrest of a Lafayette man who allegedly called in a bomb threat that resulted in the evacuation of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus last week. Denham Springs Representative Valarie Hodges, a member of the House Committee on Criminal Justice, says she is concerned that the immigrants may be bringing that violence with them…

Louisiana State Police says they’ve got someone in custody who is considered a suspect in the case of the bomb threat that was called in to UL-Lafayette last week. Earlier reports indicate it’s the same person that was accused in a robbery that same day but official details will be released by the FBI this morning.
