The Louisiana Attorney General’s office announces they’ve arrested a 29-year-old Slidell man on 25 counts of distributing child pornography. The A-G’s office says if Jeremy Petry is convicted as charged, he faces up to 20 years in prison on each count of child pornography.

Police in Natchitoches are investigating a shooting involving Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and a man with whom they were attempting to serve protective papers. After the exchange of gunfire, 26 year-old Robert Vercher was shot then pronounced dead at a local hospital. The deputies have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the investigation.

A 26 year-old Natchitoches man was shot and killed yesterday in a shooting involving Nachitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies who were trying to serve a protective order. Authorities say Robert Vercher and deputies exchanged gunfire and Vercher was hit several times. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
