One of the bigger upsets this past weekend in college football happened in Lafayette as Louisiana Tech trounced the Ragin Cajuns 48-20. The Bulldogs had 533 total yards and they were led by quarterback Cody Sokol, who threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns. Sokul says it was a great performance in a rivalry game

Tech running back Kenneth Dixon also had a big game as he rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Dixon started the scoring with a 99-yard touchdown run and Sokol says that run allowed them to seize the momentum…

It is Jindal’s second trip to New Hampshire this year, as he is considering a run for the White House in 2016.

The lawsuit filed by Covington Representative Paul Hollis challenging the residency of incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu was tossed by a Baton Rouge judge yesterday. Hollis claimed Landrieu was not a resident of the state, making her ineligible to run for Senate. He believes, however, the issue will not just go away…

Rashard Neil is charged with second degree murder for the alleged killing of LaPatrick Mitchell, who was shot several times at a car wash in Tallulah. Neil’s bond was set at one million dollars.

Louisiana Health Officials have confirmed two more West Nile Virus deaths in Northwest Louisiana, and another in the Baton Rouge area. The Department of Health and Hospitals says that brings the number of deaths in the state to four so far this year, and 19 additional cases reported this week, bringing the yearly case total to 80.

It’s the 90th year of Tiger Stadium that begins tonight and the new 80 million dollar south end zone expansion. That will bring the crowd capacity to over 102 thousand. The Tigers kick off against Sam Houston State at 6:30 pm, and tomorrow, it’s Saints and the Falcons in Atlanta, and Coach Sean Payton says, they’re going have to keep a close eye on Julio Jones…
