Metairie based polling company Multi-Quest has already asked a group of voters who they’d like to see as Louisiana’s next Governor and US-Senator David Vitter leads the pack with 25.9 percent. 53% of those surveyed are undecided says pollster John Scurich. Democrats didn’t fair well in the poll but Scurich says if Democratic New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu decides to run it will change the game…:

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s office is investigating a Sunday night officer involved shooting out of the Jeanerette Police Department. They say 42-year-old Lance Dauphine was allegedly causing a disturbance when cops responded then got into an altercation with an officer who was then stabbed. The officer then shot the suspect. Officials say both the suspect and officer have been released from the hospital and Dauphine is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder of a police officer.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of south Louisiana until 4pm this afternoon. Freeze warnings in those areas remain in effect from 11pm this evening to 9am tomorrow morning. Those in wind advisory areas are urged to secure loose objects and use caution when driving over high bridges.

Baton Rouge Police are investigating the early Sunday morning shooting death of the quarterbacks coach at West St. John High School. Authorities say 27-year-old Juan Joseph was shot outside a nightclub in Baton Rouge during an argument. Joseph was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The shortfall for this fiscal year ending June 30th is 171 million dollars and next year the shortage is projected to be $1.4 billion. Shreveport Police have arrested a man they say fired a shot that left another man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. According to authorities, 23-year-old Brandon Brown mishandled a gun and it discharged. The bullet hit the victim in the neck. Brown is charged with illegal use of a firearm. Investigators say it’s too early to rule the shooting as accidental.

More freezing temperatures are expected for Louisiana after a slight warming trend yesterday. State Climatologist Barry Keim expects temperatures to drop below freezing again tonight and says Wednesday will be a carbon copy of Tuesday with another hard freeze expected…

Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 255 yards, but it only resulted in one 4th quarter touchdown. The Saints fall to 4 and 6.

Elsewhere in the NFC South, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their second game of the season as they blew past the Washington Redskins 27-10. Bucs quarterback Josh McCown threw for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns. And Atlanta upended Carolina 19-17. The Falcons improve to 4 and 6 and, due to their conference record, move into first place in the division.

LSU’s offense failed to score a single point on a frigid night in Fayetteville as they lost to the Razorbacks 17-0 on Saturday. The Tigers only rushed for 36 yards and had 123 total yards as LSU fell to 3-and-4 in the SEC. Coach Les Miles didn’t have many answers after the game…

LSU had another bad night throwing the football. Quarterback Anthony Jennings threw for only 87 yards and sacked four times. He also had a fumble. The Tigers next visit Texas A&M on Thanksgiving.

Southeastern Louisiana defeated McNeese State 28-9 Saturday as Lions quarterback Bryan Bennett threw for 185 yards and four touchdowns. Southeastern is one win away from a Southland Conference championship.

Northwestern State quarterback Zach Adkins threw for 180 yards and five touchdowns as the Demons crushed Nicholls State 48-21.

UL-Lafayette remain undefeated in Sun Belt play as they held off ULM 34-27.

Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon says an additional insurer will be selling plans on the federal Marketplace, giving many Louisiana residents up to six different insurance companies to choose from…

In a bizarre story out of Hammond, the police department is looking for a black male who allegedly stole about $500 worth of perfume from a retail store. Lt. Shreveport Police are on the hunt for a home intruder who allegedly shot a three-year-old girl inside her home and then fled. Authorities have identified the victim as Paris Hill. Hill is hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head. Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

The Hammond Police Department says they are looking for a robber who allegedly stole a large amount of perfume from a retail store. Lt. Vince Giannobile says the incident took place this week at ULTA Beauty in the mall…
