US Senator David Vitter, who is running for governor next year, has changed his stance regarding Common Core. State Police say a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a deer has left one man dead and his wife seriously injured. They say 46-year-old Chad Babin of St. Amant was cussing the woman and she screamed for help. The suspect was hit in the head, and held at gunpoint until the cops arrived.

Louisiana State Police say a husband is dead and his wife is in serious condition after the motorcycle the were riding collided with a deer Saturday night near Leesville. They say 53-year-old Gordon Bolton and his passenger, 57-year-old Monika Bolton were ejected when they crashed into the animal in Vernon Parish. Mr. Bolton was pronounced dead at a hospital and his wife is recovering from serious injuries. Both were wearing helmets.
