A second victim claimed he contacted federal authorities to tell his story in America when he learned Rogers adopted two young children. Rogers had been the subject of a federal grand jury and was being investigated for allegedly lying on citizenship documents about prior arrests. Rogers was reportedly booked on child molestation charges in the UK, but never disclosed that information when he came to America which is why the feds were asking questions. An investigation is underway into a fatal shooting involving a Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputy. Sheriff Jason Ard says his deputies encountered a suicidal man at a home in the Albany area yesterday and lethal force was required…

Ard says 48-year-old Freddie Leblanc was armed when deputies responded to a call of an attempted suicide. The sheriff says despite repeated demands, the subject refused to drop his weapon and Leblanc eventually pointed his gun at the officers

The family of a 22-year-old New Iberia man who sustained a fatal gunshot wound while in police custody is asking the US Justice Department to investigate the circumstances of his death. The Iberia Parish coroner has ruled Victor White III’s death to be a suicide. But Monroe lawyer Carol Powell-Lexing says how could White shoot himself while he’s handcuffed

The Saints final preseason game is tonight as they host the Baltimore Ravens in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The son of former LSU Coach Gerry Dinardo has been arrested in Baton Rouge. Michael Dinardo is a 21-year-old student at LSU and he was booked on charges of intent to distribute marijuana and possessing a firearm. The arrest affidavit says several plastic bags of weed and two firearms were found at Dinardo’s residence.

And IndyCar has announced they’ll hold the first ever Grand Prix of Louisiana at the NOLA Motorsports Park in suburban New Orleans on April 12th.

Not surprisingly the teacher who is accused of having sex with a former student and a juvenile 16-year-old student has been fired from her job at Riverdale Christian Academy in Baton Rouge. Ashley Dowden was arrested after admitting that she had sex with a juvenile at the school and at that time she was placed on administrative leave but school leaders announced this week she is no longer employed with the school.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office says the son of former LSU football coach Gerry DiNardo was arrested on felony drug and firearm charges Wednesday. They say 21-year-old Michael DiNardo was sent to jail with intent to distribute marijuana and possessing a fun with drugs.

The Discovery Channel announced they’ve cancelled the show “Sons of Guns” after the star and founder of Red Jacket Firearms in Baton Rouge, was charged with the aggravated rape of a 12-year-old. William Hayden was arrested Tuesday by the US Marshal in East Baton Rouge Parish…his second arrest this month.

He says more people are also likely hitting the road this weekend because gas prices are so low being (statewide) about 17 cents lower than this time last year.

Officials have released the name of an armed man shot and killed by deputy rounds in Livingston Parish. He is 48-year-old Freddie W. LeBlanc. The incident happened in Albany in Livingston Parish around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sheriff Jason Ard says deputies responded to a call about an attempted suicide with a gun. When deputies arrived, they found LeBlanc with a gun and an incident ensued and the man was shot and killed by deputy rounds. State Police is investigating.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals allocates 18-million dollars to a Baton Rouge Hospital to keep its emergency room open. Baton Rouge General decided to close their Mid-City ER because they were losing money providing health care to an increasing number of uninsured patients. But DHH Chief of Staff Calder Lynch says this commitment should meet the ER’s needs for the current fiscal year…:
