LSU finishes their regular season on a high note as they defeated Texas A&M last night 23-17. Freshman running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 146 yards and one touchdown as the Tigers racked up 384 rushing yards on the game, the most in an SEC game since 1997. LSU finishes the regular season with an 8-4 overall record, 4-4 in the conference.

One of the best stories in college football this season will get national attention Saturday when the Grambling State Tigers try to complete their remarkable turnaround, by beating Southern in the Bayou Classic. With a win, the Tigers can win the SWAC Western Division after winning just two games in 2012 and 2013. First-year Coach Broderick Fobbs says despite some recent dark days at Grambling, the winning tradition never left the school…

The high school football playoffs resume tonight. In Class Four-A, top seeded Plaquemine will host ninth seeded South Terrebonne in a quarterfinal matchup. Both teams come to the game with one loss. And in the Division Two Semi-finals…Catholic High of New Iberia hosts Isidore Newman and Riverside takes on Calvary Baptist.

In the NBA, the Pelicans are at Atlanta tonight. New Orleans is 7-and-6 on the season, while the Hawks are 7-and-5. Former Louisiana Tech star Paul Millsap is averaging nearly 17 points a game for Atlanta.

In college hoops…Louisiana Tech concludes a four-game homestand by taking on Samford and Tulane, who is off to a 3-and-1 start, will host Southeastern Louisiana.

State Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash this morning that claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman from St. Charles Parish. Authorities say Christin Allday of St. Rose was walking across Louisiana Highway 626, when she failed to yeild to the oncoming vehicle, which fled the scene after striking Allday, who was pronounded dead at a local hospital. The incident occurred around 1:45 this morning.

Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Sears and Target are just some of the retailers cutting their Thanksgiving short in the hopes of increasing revenues. LSU marketing professor Dan Rice says optimism is high among retailers that this will be a good holiday shopping season…

A St. Charles Parish woman was killed eary this morning by a hit-and-run vehicle. State Police are still looking for the vehicle that struck 25-year-old Christin Allday of St. Rose on Louisiana Highway 305. Allday was pronounced dead at a local hospital, as authorities say she failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle at around 1:45 this morning.

According to the National Restaurant Association, an estimated 30-million Americans will eat out or get carry-out for all or part of their Thanksgiving meal. Erica Burns, with the Louisiana Restaurant Association, says with many retail stores open on Thanksgiving night, it makes sense for restaurants to be open too….

Construction will begin next month on a mobile pet shelter that will be used for the 2015 hurricane season and beyond. The state department of agriculture is responsible for pet evacuations and Ag Commissioner Mike Strain says storm victims in the past have refused assistance unless their pets were accommodated…

State Police troopers are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian in St. Charles Parish early this morning on Louisiana Highway 305. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Christin Allday of St. Rose. Authorities say Allday was walking across the highway, when she failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle and was struck. Allday was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Louisiana will have a mobile pet shelter for future hurricane seasons. Scott Carwile has more…

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has produced a series of hunting safety videos illustrating the proper use of hunting gear. These videos contain information that will help both experienced and novice hunters enjoy the outdoors safely. Governor Bobby Jindal announces that Providence Foods will open a new 12,000 square food canning facility in East Carroll Parish. The facility will produce tomatoes, relishes, and sauces. The Lake Providence project will create 24 new direct jobs and an estimated 45 new indirect jobs for northeast Louisiana. Providence Foods targets commercial operations beginning in the first quarter of 2015.

Saturday, Louisiana Tech hosts Rice with the Conference USA West division title on the line. The winner of that game will take on Marshall in the Conference USA championship game on December 6th.

With one game left in the regular season, UL-Lafayette still has a shot to share the Sun Belt Conference Championship, despite their loss last week to Appalachian State. For the Ragin Cajuns to claim at least a share of the Sun Belt title, they’ll need ULM to beat Georgia Southern on Saturday and the UL-L will need to knock off Troy. The Cajuns-Trojans game kicks off at 11:30 Saturday and the Warhawks-Eagles match up will begin at 5PM. Both games can be seen on ESPN3.

Also Saturday, Southeastern Louisiana will host Sam Houston State in the first round of the FCS playoffs. Kickoff is scheduled for 1PM Saturday in Strawberry Stadium. The winner will advance to take on Jacksonville State on December 6th.

In the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, ULM junior, Majok Deng, recorded a double-double, but it wasn’t enough as the Warhawks fell 61-48 to Coastal Carolina in Chattanooga, TN. Deng recorded 14 points and and pulled down a game high 10 rebounds as ULM falls to 2-2 on the season. ULM takes on Robert Morris today.
