The LSU Police Department is investigating an alleged rape that reportedly happened on Tuesday night October 7th on West Lakeshore Drive in an area north of the Lod Cook Alumni Center. The victim said she was approached by a group of males in that location and one grabbed her and raped her while the others watched. Anyone with information regarding this alleged assault is asked to contact LSUPD at 225-578-3231.

Louisianians are talking about the US Senate Debate last night. We spoke with political analysts who say there really wasn’t a winner or loser. A trial date has been tentatively scheduled for the two suspects who are accused in the dismemberment case of the Bourbon Street dancer in 2012. 41-year-old Terry Speaks arrived in New Orleans this morning from New York where he was serving time for another crime. 30-year-old Margaret Sanchez is also charged with the murder. A trial date is scheduled January 12th but prosecutors did not indicate which suspect will be first.

National Nurses United is concerned about the new case, and questions whether nurses have been adequately trained and have the protective gear to take care of Ebola patients.

The cause of death of a woman whose body was found under a house in Houma early last Friday morning has been determined as blunt force trauma according to officials. They believe 22-year-old Dashata Brown was killed in a domestic violence incident with her boyfriend, 42-year-old Michael Tucker who is charged in her death. Investigators still don’t know the victim got under the house.

Louisiana State Police is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident which occurred on I-10 just before 3am in Ascension Parish. Trooper Jared Sandifer says 21-year-old April Tasker of Geismar was stopped on the side of the road next to her car when for unknown reasons she attempted to walk across the interstate…:

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has confirmed it was an EF-2 tornado that went through Ouachita Parish during Monday’s storms that caused widespread damage throughout the area. They say it traveled 9 miles and was 300 yards at its widest point.

Was there a clear winner or loser in last night’s US-Senate debate between Senator Mary Landireu, Congressman Bill Cassidy and Col Rob Maness? UL-Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross thinks both the incumbent and Maness helped themselves in the televised face-off. However, he doesn’t think it was a great night for Cassidy…:

Louisiana State Police say a man was killed in an early morning crash involving a drunk driver this morning in Jefferson Davis Parish. They say 21-year-old Taylor Pellerin of Lake Arthur was on I-10 near Roanoke when he drove off the road causing his vehicle to flip several times. His passenger, 22-year-old Jordan Gatte wasn’t buckled up and died at the scene. Pellerin was arrest and his charges include DWI and vehicular homicide.
