The Fighting Tigers of LSU are back in Death Valley tomorrow night as they host the Kentucky Wildcats. The purple and gold are coming off an exciting win at Florida and will be looking to keep that momentum going into Saturday’s game. Tiger Rag Editor Robert Stewart thinks LSU should come out on top because it is a home game that will be filled with excited Tiger fans, but since the Bayou Bengals have struggled so much on defense it will probably be a closer game than many people think. Leonard Fournette is coming off his best game of the season and Stewart says you can expect another nice performance out of the running back…:

The Kentucky game begins a three game home-stand with Ole Miss coming in next weekend then Alabama on November 8th.

UL-Lafayette wide receiver Jamal Robinson will miss the remainder of the season after having foot surgery. Robinson injured his foot in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s win over Texas State when a defender rolled over his ankle.

The marquee matchup this Saturday in the Southland Conference will take place at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond. Southeastern Louisiana will host Central Arkansas. Both teams come into this matchup undefeated in conference play.

Elsewhere in the Southland, McNeese State will host Abeline Christian, Lamar travels to Thibodaux to take on Nicholls State, and Northwestern State will play host to Sam Houston.

Anthony Davis poured in 28 points last night as the Pelicans cruised past the Oklahoma City Thunder 120-86 in the Smoothie King Center. Tyreke Evans, seeing his first action this preseason, added 10 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in 20 minutes of action. The Pels improve their preseason record to 3-and-2.

The Major League Baseball World Series is now set. The San Franscisco Giants’ Travis Ishikawa’s walk-off home run lifted his team over the St. Louis Cardinals to win the National League Pennant. The Giants will face American League Champion Kansas City Royals in the World Series. Game 1 is Tuesday.

New Orleans Police report a teenager is hospitalized after a shooting in New Orleans East last night. Authorities say a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was taken to a local hospital. The victim’s identity has not been released.

There’s been another sexual student/teacher incident. The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s office says a woman who teaches at Crowley High is under arrest for allegedly being inappropriately involved with some of her students. Spokeswoman Maxine Trahan says they received an initial report about 34-year-old Tracy Marie Barras of Duson in early October…:

An LSU employee who was recently in Ebola stricken Liberia has been asked to stay off campus for 21 days. That’s the time frame during which symptons of the virus could show up according to Olivia Watkins with the state Department of Health and Hospitals. She says the man told DHH he did not have contact with anyone who had Ebola so he’s not considered high risk…:

Watkins says it’s important to remember that Ebola can not be passed to another individual when there are no symptoms present.

The Louisiana State Police is investigating a shooting involving an Opelousas Police officer. Authorities say 23-year-old Demarcus Jones lead police on a foot chase after threatening someone with a gun. Jones then reportedly fired on the officer who returned fire. Jones was treated for his injuries and released into police custody. The officer was unharmed.

Bayou Country Superfest producers announce the shows for 2015 will span over three days again and include a special Friday concert. The BCS lineup for the Tiger Stadium concerts will be announced November 5th.

LSU announces a home-and-home two-game series against the University of Texas. The Tigers will visit Austin on September 7th, 2019 and the teams will meet in Baton Rouge on September 12th, 2020. LSU will also be returning to the Cowboys Classic against Miami to open the 2018 season.

The Senator says Jamie Mayo, the long-time Democratic mayor of Monroe is the right choice for the district, and said he would be a bridge-builder for Democrats, Republicans and Independents on the Hill, and continue the economic building of that district.

LSU Police are looking for a group of men connected to an alleged rape of a female victim on campus last week. Captain Corey LaLond says the incident reportedly took place on West Lakeshore Drive, which is usually a very well-traveled area…

Many homes and businesses in Monroe and West Monroe remain powerless as a result of a tornado that moved through the area Monday. Entergy spokesman Roderick Worthy says at the height of the storm, about 38,000 customers were without power in the Ouachita Parish area…

There’s a good chance the Saints will not have tight end Jimmy Graham for Sunday’s game against the Lions. Graham has a shoulder injury that knocked him out of a game nearly two weeks ago. Brees says that means more chances for the other tight ends and wide receivers on the roster:

LaLonde says one of the subjects allegedly grabbed the victim and forced her to the ground. He says the other subjects surrounded them while the incident took place. LaLonde says there is normally a considerable amount of traffic in that area…

A new protocol has been implemented to 911 operators in Louisiana which has them screen callers for Ebola symptoms. Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director Kevin Davis says the caller will be asked a series of questions about ilnesses, particularly fever and recent travel. He says that will help EMS responding…:

Davis says the operators would ask about flu like symptoms, whether the person has recently been to an Ebola outbreak country and if they have been in contact with someone who has been exposed to the virus. He says the information would immediately be sent to responders…:

A man who works for LSU and has recently visited Liberia has been asked to stay off campus for at least three weeks. Olivia Watkins with the Department of Health and Hospitals says they are going in to monitor the man two times a day to make sure he does not exhibit symptoms of the Ebola virus…but he is not being forced to stay home…:

Meanwhile Governor Bobby Jindal is criticizing the Obama Administration for the nation’s response to the spread of Ebola saying it’s incompetent and malpractice has been committed.

A teenager from Lafayette is under arrest after police say he tried to rob a gas station with a stick wrapped in plastic while wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask. 18-year-old Lacorrion Turner was booked with first degree robbery.

The LSU Police Department is asking for help in a possible rape investigation.
