Fifty-three year old Gordon Bolton died at a local hospital, and 57 year-old Monika (MO-nika) Bolton is in serious condition. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s office says a man faces many charges after allegedly trying to kidnap a woman in her own driveway before she was resuced by her husband and son. They say 46-year-old Chad Babin of St. Amant was cussing the woman and she screamed for help. The suspect was held at gunpoint until the cops arrived.

State Police say a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a deer has left one man dead and his wife seriously injured. US-Senator David Vitter says he no longer supports Common Core. Vitter had said he supported the education standards but now says he’s talked to thousands of parents and teachers who don’t like it and feel it doesn’t give Louisiana enough control. He says we should get out of Common Core and establish our own state system of standards and testing.

Louisiana State Police say a husband is dead and his wife is in serious condition after the motorcycle the were riding collided with a deer Saturday night near Leesville. They say 53-year-old Gordon Bolton and his passenger, 57-year-old Monika Bolton were ejected when they crashed into the animal in Vernon Parish. Mr. Bolton was pronounced dead at a hospital and his wife is recovering from serious injuries. Both were wearing helmets.

There’s another Senate debate tonight between incumbent Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu and Congressman Bill Cassidy. So what can we expect to hear? Authorities found 46-year-old Laura Williams dead due to an apparent stabbing. Deputies are now looking for 48-year-old Dennis Williams. Dennis was last seen wearing jeans and a blue button down shirt. He is described as 6’1″ and weighing 220 pounds. State Police say a man was killed and his wife seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a deer near Leesville. They say 53-year-old Gordon Bolton was killed and 57-year-old Monika Bolton was injured after both thrown from the bike as a result of the collision. Authorities say both were wearing helmets. The investigation is ongoing.

Training has begun for State Police Cadet Class #93 to earn the privilege of wearing the “gold boot” badge of the Louisiana State Police. State Police graduated Cadet Class #92 in May and added 46 troopers to the roster. Trooper Jared Sandifer says this new cadet class will go through 20 weeks of intense training…
