No other injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities are investigating this case as a domestic violence situation.

The Louisiana SPCA has increased the reward to $3000 for anyone who has information about the person or persons responsible for cutting the head off baby goat last week in a park in Orleans Parish. They say 23-year-old Jamie Jackson was babysitting the 4-year-old when she allegedly left the child alone while she brought her nephew to school and had coffee with her aunt. The child was found about a mile and a half from Jackson’s home on Highway 385. Jackson is charged with cruelty to a juvenile.

The state’s budget woes are causing difficulties in the search for a new president for Grambling State University.
