One person is dead and another three injured after a pickup truck struck a school bus head-on in Beauregard Parish this morning. State Police say the crash killed a passenger in the truck and injured both drivers. Twenty-two year-old Terric Glover died in the crash. There were no children on the school bus.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office has charged a substitute teacher on counts of producing and possessing child pornography and carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Lt. Bill Davis says 26-year-old Christopher Kerr of Bossier City used his position as a teacher to get access to children, and he used social media as well…

Four girls between the ages of 13 and 16 have been identified, and there are at least 30 more that are unidentified.

The number one ranked LSU Baseball team can win a Southeastern Conference championship tonight if the Tigers beat South Carolina and Vanderbilt loses to Alabama. This is also a big series for South Carolina. The Gamecocks are 12-15 in the SEC and fighting for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Coach Paul Mainieri says they are expecting big crowds at Carolina Stadium, a place they’ve had some success at ….

Tonight’s game begins at six PM.

Also getting underway at six P-M, U-L-M hosts U-L Lafayette. The Warhawks are still trying to nail down a spot in the Sun Belt Tournament. And Louisiana Tech concludes its regular season with a three-game series against Marshall that starts at six PM.

Southeastern Louisiana can win its first Southland Conference championship tonight with a win over UNO. Northwestern State is in second place and they host Nicholls State tonight. The Colonels have won nine in a row. Also, McNeese State is at Central Arkansas. The Cowboys are 17-and-10 on the league.

In basketball news…ESPN has announced that LSU will host Oklahoma as part of the ESPN-Big 12 challenge on Saturday January 30th.

And there’s a report the Pelicans are waiting to see if Chicago Bulls Coach Tom Thibodeau will be available before starting their heading coach search. Thibodeau’s Bulls could be eliminated tonight and there’s talk he won’t return as Chicago’s coach.

Former LSU Tiger Odell Beckham has been voted to be on the cover of the EA Sports Maden NFL 16 video game. Beckham beat out Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski a in vote by the fans.

The bodies of a previously reported missing mother and her two children were found in a car in New Orleans East. NOPD says 25-year-old Michelle McCullum and her children, 5-year-old Caden and 3-year-old Cylie, were all found dead in an apparent murder-suicide. Police say they received a call from concerned family members about McCullum.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest of a substitute teacher, who is charged with several counts of producing and possessing child porn, and carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Lt. Bill Davis says they have identified at least four female victims, aged 13-16.  26 year-old Christopher Kerr reportedly either exchanged nude photos and videos or had allegedly had sexual relations with the children…

At the State Capitol, the House approves legislation that would prohibit gender-based abortions. The bill’s author, Houma Representative Lenar Whitney, who cited an article from Forbes about pregnancies ending early this way in certain communities. New Orleans Representative Helena Moreno argued against the bill (that would require the mother to know the sex of the fetus.)

A Bossier City substitute teacher has been arrested on counts of producing and possessing child pornography and carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Bill Davis says, 26 year-old Christopher Kerr used his position, and social media to allegedly find victims. Davis says this is a safety reminder for everyone….

A passenger in the truck, 22-year-old Terric Glover of Benton died in the crash and another passenger, 25-year-old Gustavo Rodelo-Espinal of Bossier City was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

Davis says a prior arrest of Kerr lead to an investigation where these charges were filed…

Authorities have identified at least four female victims, aged 13-16, that Kerr either exchanged nude photos and videos or had sexual relations with over the last three years. Davis says they are working to identify even more victims…

Davis says they have at least 30 photos of victims they have yet to identify. He encourages these victims to come forward so they can levy the appropriate charges against Kerr. Davis says this is another reminder to be careful of what you post online…

He says someone found a vehicle matching McCullum’s this morning with people inside. Harrison says when officers arrived, they found all three shot dead inside the vehicle…

A firearm was found at the scene. Authorities are trying to learn more about McCullum’s mental health history. Harrison says the investigation is in its initial stages but they are determined to find out what exactly happened…

Whitney’s legislation passed on an 84-2 vote. New Orleans Representative Walt Leger voted “yes”, but he’s concerned language in the legislation will lead to frivolous lawsuits against abortion doctors

The bill heads to the Senate for more debate. New Orleans Representative Helena Moreno was one of two House members to vote against the measure. She doesn’t like a provision that  requires a woman to know the sex of the fetus, if possible, before an abortion

State Police say a 15-year-old unrestrained driver from Leesville died in a Vernon Parish crash last night. They say Acadia Sanders lost control of the truck she was driving and slammed into a large tree. Investigators determined Sanders was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old passenger was restrained and received moderate injuries.

Superintendent Michael Harrison says they were looking for 25-year-old Michelle McCullum and her kids ages 5 and 3 as when a concerned family member contacted police…:

He says, in a tragic ending, officers found all three shot dead inside the vehicle.

The bill by Houma Representative Lenar Whitney which would ban abortions based on sex selection overwhelmingly passed on the House Floor today. There was debate over some of the semantics of the bill but in the end lawmakers considered this pro-life legislation which would further protect lives of unborn children. The vote was 84-2 and the bill heads to the Senate.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s office says a substitute teacher and youth umpire is under arrest for allegedly using his position to get girls to send him naked pictures and they are still looking for victims. Lt. Bill Davis says 26-year-old Christopher Kerr of Bossier City is charged with producing and possessing child porn….:

He says Kerr was using social media to commit the crimes with young teenage victims. They know there are more juveniles involved and they are encouraging parents to talk with their kids who could have come in contact with Kerr.

Retired Army Lieutenant General Russel Honore says he’s still considering a run for governor this year. Honore, who gained a lot of fans for his no nonsense approach following Hurricane Katrina, says even though it’s late in the game, raising money for a campaign would be no problem…

LSU also has a chance with a win tonight and a Vanderbilt loss to clinch the Southeastern Conference regular season championship. Shortstop Alex Bregman says it’s a great opportunity for the team…

A 25-year-old New Orleans woman and her two young children are reportedly dead in an apparent murder-suicide. State Police and NOPD issued an alert this morning asking for assistance in locating Michelle McCullum and her kids ages 5 and 3 as family members reported the mother left her Treme home and had indicated she was feeling suicidal. Reports indicate cops found the three inside a vehicle deceased shortly after the alert went out.

The latest Southern Media and Opinion Research Poll shows likely Louisiana voters approve of the bills the House has passed to fill the state’s 1.6 billion dollar budget deficit. Pollster Bernie Pinsonat says the budget situation comes down to one thing for residents…:

He says 67 percent of respondents want to see the state raise revenue.
