The top half of the state is under a heat advisory until 7pm tomorrow. The National Weather Service says a ridge of high pressure is hovering over the region which is forecast to reach temperatures into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees.

If you’re planning to install solar panels on your home, residents from this point will not be getting tax credits from the state. The Louisiana Department of Revenue says the solar energy tax incentive program is tapped out. But President of Solar Alternatives Jeff Cantin says there are still federal tax dollars available…:

The Governor’s office will host a blood drive tomorrow in honor of the three law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the ambush in Baton Rouge on Sunday. An Edgard man is facing 15 years in prison for allegedly posting on social media that cops were going to be killed in St. Charles Parish. The post essentially read, “In a little while cops in St. Charles are going to be next. I hope they kill every last one of them.” Sheriff Greg Champagne says this type of hateful rhetoric, especially during such tense times, that will not be tolerated…:

So far, 13 candidates in the US Senate race have officially signed up to run on this first day of qualifying. They include Republicans Congressmen Charles Boustany and John Fleming and Joseph Cao. Democrats Caroline Fayard and Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell threw their hats in the ring, as well as former ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert.

A police officer in Kentwood shot someone during an incident last night in Tangipahoa Parish. State Police confirmed the shooting and said the woman did not suffer life-threatening injuries. No other information on this incident is being released at this time.

The State Department of Revenue announces the limit has been reached on the Louisiana solar energy tax credit program. Emelie Gunn has more on what this means…:

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of making threats against police officers on social media. Sheriff Greg Champagne says they received reports on Monday, following the deadly rampage against officers the prior day in Baton Rouge, that a man by the name of Victor “Life of Crime” Pablo indicated he planned a similar ambush

Champagne says the suspect is being charged with terrorizing and threatening a public official, which carries up to a maximum of 15 years in prison.

The State Department of Revenue has announced that the Louisiana solar energy tax credit program has already reached its limit. The LDR says consumers buying residential solar energy systems from this point on should not expect to receive any tax credits from the state. State Police is investigating a police shooting in Tangiaphoa Parish. Trooper Dustin Dwight says the incident happened last night on LA 38 and a woman was shot by a Kentwood Police officer. The woman’s injuries are not considered life-threatening and no other information is being released at this time.

Qualifying for the federal elections begins today. In the US Senate race, the latest polls show Republican State Treasurer John Kennedy leading a large field of candidates, but pollster John Couvillion says a lot can change before the November primary…

Last night, hundreds of bikers gathered on the highway where two Baton Rouge city cops and one sheriff’s deputy were killed on Sunday. They took a short ride to the Baton Rouge Police headquarters — not far from the site of the tragic incident. The bikers said the distance was short, but the message they were spreading could go a long way. Nearly every bike was decorated with a blue strip or black and blue flag.
