The Webster Parish Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has a new social media policy in response to what happened last December when tourism director Lynn Dorsey accidentially video herself nude on Instagram. An Ascension Parish woman will spend five years in prison after pleadering guility to driving while intoxicated with her 15-month old child on her lap. At the time of the arrest, deputies said Katherine Summerfield had a blood-alcohol level more than four times the legal limit to drive. Prosecutors say she was so drunk, authorities took her to the hospital.

A U-Haul report finds Louisiana’s population could’ve grown in 2016. The Bayou State came in at number 8 in the U-Haul growth report, as more trucks came into the state than left. But U-Haul North Louisiana president Warren Iles says that doesn’t necessarily mean the population is growing at the same rate trucks are arriving. He says the August flood could’ve impacted the numbers.
