Many LSU fans believe Florida didn’t want to move the game out of Gainesville this weekend, in light of the hurricane) because they are scared to lose. But Stewart Mandel, college football writer for Fox Sports, says while Florida was being stubborn about the matter, he doesn’t think it was their hope that the game wouldn’t happen at all this weekend the way the SEC decided..:

Louisianans love their spicy food, so it’s no surprise that a Lafayette man with “a lot of passion and a little know how” is attempting to make the hottest pepper in the world. He says more testing needs to be done, but it looks like the Louisiana Creeper to be the hottest pepper in the world at 2 million Scoville Heat Units or better.

The state is trying to move the stripper age lawsuit to Baton Rouge. The mandate, which has been temporarily blocked by a judge in New Orleans, says 21 would have to be the minimum age for working as an exotic danger. Lawyers for the defendant in the case, the state alcohol control commissioner, want to trial moved to Baton Rouge because that’s where ATC is based. They also argue that’s where two of the three dancers that brought the suit live and work.

LSU fans are trying to figure out what they’ll do tomorrow with no Tigers game to watch. The contest between the Bayou Bengals and Florida has been postponed by Hurricane Matthew and it will likely not be rescheduled. LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette hopes the loss of a game doesn’t keep LSU from playing for an SEC title…

The American Press in Lake Charles is reporting that a Calcasieu Parish School Board member was arrested in San Diego on a charge of indecent exposure. Police say 54-year-old Chuck Hansen of Sulphur was driving and slowed down to talk with a 17-year-old girl walking down the street. The victim told authorities that when she walked over to the vehicle, Hansen was masturbating and then drove away.

LSU is not heading to Florida to play the Gators this Saturday and there’s a good chance the game will never be played…:

Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni, who is reportedly under investigating for inappropriate behavior with teenage boys, released a video in response to the allegation. Angry residents have called for his resignation. But Yenni says in the video he admits to sending texts to a young man, and that it was a bad decision. He’s now being deployed until October 15th for operations related to Hurricane Matthew.

State Police is investigating a wrong-way crash in Covington that claimed the life of the driver who is suspected of being impaired. They say 55-year-old Perry Nunez got on I-12 westbound going east and crashed head-on into an 18 wheeler. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The SEC ended up cancelling the LSU/Florida game in Gainesville over safety concerns due to Hurricane Matthew. Interim Head Coach Ed Orderon says they are disappointed:

Governor John Bel Edwards is holding a media briefing today at the airport in New Orleans when he arrives from Cuban to talk about his trip. In a statement, the governor’s office says the trade mission set the stage for greater economic and cultural exchanges between the Caribbean nation and Louisiana. The trip follows President Barack Obama’s decision in December 2014 to normalize relations with Cuba.
