The LSU men’s basketball team will look to snap its five-game losing streak on Saturday night when they host 25th ranked Ole Miss. These two teams played in Oxford earlier this season and the Rebels won by a dozen points. Tip-off on Saturday night is at 7:30.

Louisiana Tech will try again for its first conference road victory of the season when they take on F-I-U. The Bulldogs three game were outplayed by Liberty on Thursday night, falling 73 to 57.

The Ragin Cajuns take a break from Sun Belt play to take on Northern Illinois in Dekalb.

The big game in the Southland Conference on Saturday, will happen in Lake Charles as McNeese hosts Northwestern State. The Demons are 7-and-5 in league play, while the Cowboys are 11-and-1.

Southern will try to stay undefeated in the SWAC as they visit Alabama A-and-M.

The sixth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team has a big game in the P-MAC as they host 19th-ranked Tennessee. Tip-off on Super Bowl Sunday is at 3 PM.

The average price for live crawfish has dropped $1.20 a pound heading into Super Bowl weekend. That’s according to Laney King with the Crawfish App, who says this is shaping up to be a much better crawfish season than last year…

King says if you purchase boiled crawfish from your favorite spot, expect to pay around $7.10 a pound and a 35-pound sack is going for around 165-dollars.

Kenner Police arrest a woman in connection with the death of a Kansas City TV reporter in town covering the Super Bowl. Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley says Danette Colbert was seen on a surveillance video at entering Adan Manzano’s hotel room Wednesday morning. His credit card and phone were later found in her residence. Conley says Colbert is a career criminal who has done this type of thing before.

So far, Colbert has only been charged with having Manzano’s credit card. Depending on what Manzano’s autopsy reveals, those charges could be upgraded.

Police Chief Keith Conley says Danette Colbert was seen on a surveillance video at a Comfort Suites hotel entering Adan Manzano’s room Wednesday morning. And he says the credit card that Manzano used to check into the hotel was missing from his wallet. Investigators found it a short time later.

A Baton Rouge doctor will get to go to the Super Bowl for free. The NFL selected Dr. Jonathan Roberts as its Saints fan of the year. Roberts says he’s been a Saints fan since their days in Tulane Stadium. Along with Sunday’s game, Roberts also gets free admission to various events leading up to the big game.

Joe Burrow won the Comeback Player of the Year Award for a second time in his career.

A decorated Army veteran from South Dakota returns to New Orleans for the first time today since performing clean-up work following Hurricane Katrina and she will get to go to the Super Bowl. Staff Sergeant Kim Hubers is one of a few disabled military veterans that have received tickets to the game, and she can’t believe it…

A Shreveport man is facing charges after he allegedly offered to give two teenagers a ride home, instead took them to a local hotel room and tried to sexually assault them. Shreveport Police Corporal Chris Bordelon says the teenagers made a bad decision in getting into Reed’s vehicle. They did not know him

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a Kansas City sports reporter in New Orleans was covering the Super Bowl. Kenner Police have taken Danette Colbert into custody after he allegedly used 27-year-old Adan Manzano’s credit card at several stores in the New Orleans area. Currently Colbert is only facing property crimes, but police say she has a history of drugging men.

Especially in light of what happened New Year’s Day, security along Bourbon Street is tighter than it’s ever been before…

Shreveport Police say two teenagers survived a harrowing experience when they accepted a ride from a stranger and instead of being driven home, they were taken to a local hotel room. Corporal Chris Bordelon says Jeffrey Reed did not allow the teens to leave, once he got them in that hotel room…
