A two-year-old is among the three dead after a car chase ended with a crash in New Orleans east. Louisiana State Police spokesperson, Trooper Melissa Matey, says state police units attempted to stop the vehicle in downtown New Orleans for a stolen license plate. Matey says the driver fled the scene and collided with a truck and ran off the road…

A new report finds Louisiana students who attend private schools on taxpayer funded vouchers are not outperforming their peers in public schools. One of the authors of the report, Jonathan Mills, says the goal was to paint a picture of how the program is doing….

Louisiana spends about 40-million dollars a year on the voucher program and there are 71-hundred students who participate.

The Louisiana Public Service Commission unanimously approved construction for a new Entergy plant in Westlake. Entergy spokesperson Michael Burns says the new Lake Charles Power Station plant will save customers a lot of money.

The Tigers skipper talked about how last summer affected him as Baton Rouge suffered through riots, police shootings and deadly flooding. He wanted to accomplish something good…

The TV ratings are in for the College World Series finals and they are up 71-percent from last year and it’s the best for the CWS finals since 2011.

Saints Quarterback Drew Brees says he’s starting a coed, youth flag football league called Football ‘N” America. Brees says he would like it to become the premier youth coed flag football league and he believes it could save the entire sport, because it would allow kids to play at a young age without the risk of putting pads on. Leagues will start up this fall in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Covington.

Former New Orleans Hornet Chris Paul is leaving the Clippers as a deal has reportedly been reached that will send Paul to the Houston Rockets to team up with James Harden in the backcourt. There’s also a report Houston is acquiring former LSU Tiger Tim Quartermann from the Portland Trail Blazers.

Grambling State named Donte Jackson as it’s new men’s basketball coach. Jackson was the head coach at Stillman College, an NAIA school in Tuscaloosa, over the last three seasons. During that time, Stillman had a record of 66-21 and they won their conference in 2016.

Pizza enthusiasts across Louisiana are mourning the loss of Johnny Huntsman, founder of Johnny’s Pizza House and creator of the famed Sweep the Kitchen pizza. His brother Chester Huntsman says coaching was Johnny’s first love, and he spent one season at the helm of the West Monroe High School Rebel football team.

Johnny passed away this morning at the age of 77.

All four suspects in the brutal beating and robbery in New Orleans are behind bars. NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison says it was only a matter of time before these men were tracked down.

The National Safety Council ranks Louisiana the tenth safest state in the country overall, but the state receives an F rating for workplace safety. President and CEO Deborah Hersman says the state has lots of improvement to make in this category.

His brother, Chester Hunstman, says Johnny learned how to make pizza while attending college in Iowa and had a personal approach with customers and employees…

The report finds Louisianans are less safe at work than on the roads, as the state receives an F grade for workplace safety. Hersman says they looked at things like drug-free and smoke-free workplaces and worker’s compensation. She says the state has lots of room for improvement in this category.

Louisiana earned a middle of the road C grade for home and community safety, which includes poisonings. Hersman says the most common occurrence they see is overdoses from prescription painkillers. She says laws about prescriber education would go a long way in Louisiana.

The New Orleans Police Department now has in custody all four suspects accused in the brutal attack and robbery in the French Quarter that was captured on a now-viral video. 21-year-old Dejuan Paul, and 18-year-old Joshua Simmons had surrendered previously. A Minden woman will spend 40 years in prison for fatally shooting her 22-year-old son while she was intoxicated. Forty-eight-year-old Dora Blake was sentenced Tuesday for shooting her son in the back of the head as he drove her home after she was kicked out of a casino.

There was a controversial play in the 7th inning, when LSU had a run taken off the scoreboard because of a runner interference call at second base. Here’s how Coach Paul Mainieri saw it….

Saints quarterback Drew Brees tells ESPN-dot-com he’s starting a co-ed youth flag football league. Brees says it would be a safer alternative to tackle football. Brees says Football ‘N” America will start this fall in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Covington and then expand into other states next year. The future Hall of Fame QB came up with the idea after coaching his sons’ flag football team in San Diego.

Michael Federico has been named as the new head baseball coach at ULM. The Slidell native has been an assistant coach at Southern Miss the last nine seasons, working with the pitchers and catchers. In 2015, Federico was named Assistant Coach of the Year by Conference USA. Federico is also a former head coach at Meridian Community College in Mississippi and led the school to two World Series appearances in three seasons as head coach.

Former LSU pitcher Kevin Gausman won for the first time in four starts yesterday as the Baltimore Orioles topped Toronto 3-1. Gausman gave up four hits in 5.1 innings.

The beloved Founder of Monroe-founded Johnny’s Pizza, Johnny Huntsman, has passed away. The company said Huntsman had been suffering Alzheimer’s for a couple of years. Johnny’s Pizza first opened in Monroe in 1967 on Desiard Street right across from ULM. He was 77.
