Iconic New Orleans musician Fats Domino has died at the age of 89. Celebrity reactions are pouring in on Twitter, including from fellow Crescent City native and singer, Harry Connick Jr. Connick said Domino held pave the way for New Orleans piano players; and that he’d see him on top of that blueberry hill in the sky. Domino is best known for songs such as Blueberry Hill, Ain’t That a Shame and Walking to New Orleans.

Authorities say two people were shot dead on the campus of Grambling State University, and the gunman is at large. GSU spokesman Will Sutton says they believe an altercation took place inside a dorm room, and spilled into a courtyard outside when the shooting took place. He says a suspect or motive is not being released at this time; but they do have leads.:

A lawsuit has been filed by Lambda Legal on behalf of William “Liam” Pierce claiming their client was offered a job by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office that was later rescinded when they learned Pierce had HIV. As part of his campaign to educate the public on the Criminal Justice Reforms going into effect November 1st, Governor John Bel Edwards has released three videos featuring community leaders who were active in passing the legislation. Edwards says he wants to highlight the necessity of criminal justice reform in Louisiana, the reduced cost to taxpayers and the increased safety that will result from this reform for communities across the state.

Police in south Bossier said they had to remove an 11-foot alligator from a road near Elm Grove before it could impede traffic. They said the gator had to be euthanized due to its size and dangers associated with trying to capture it alive.

An investigator with the Jefferson Parish coroner’s office says Domino died of natural causes.

LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva believes attendance at games in Tiger Stadium would be improved if they started selling beer. Speaking to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, Alleva said they have to do a better job of making the fan experience at LSU games more friendly; and he feels beer would be a good place to start. He says hes continuing to push the SEC to change its alcohol policy.

Lincoln Parish deputies are investigating a double homicide that occurred on the Grambling State campus last night. Earl Andrews and Monquiarius Caldwell were shot to the death by a gunman after an altercation in a dorm room. The search for the shooter is ongoing, but University spokesperson Will Sutton says the school is trying to operate as normal…

The shooting occurred around midnight. Authorities say there was an altercation in a dorm room and it ended violently in a courtyard. A description of the suspect has not been given.

Natchitoches Police have arrested two more individuals in the Sunday afternoon shooting that injured two young girls. Twenty-five-year-old Christopher Kelley has been booked on four counts attempted first degree murder and a 16-year-old is facing two counts of attempted first degree murder. The children are expected to make a fully recovery.

The federal government wants to hold the largest oil and gas lease sale ever in the United States as it plans to put up nearly 77-million acres up for sale in the Gulf of Mexico. Marion Police Chief Mark Dodd says it appears the child’s mother got out of the car at a gas station, and almost instantly 31-year-old Gregory Mitchell hopped in and sped off…:
