Elsewhere in the league….TreDavious White’s interception late in the game secured Buffalo’s 16-10 victory over Kansas City. Leonard Fournette rushed for just 25 yards in Jacksonville’s 27-24 win over Arizona.

LSU defensive line coach Pete Jenkins will retire after the bowl game. Jenkins is completing his third stint with the Tigers. He helped send Henry Thomas, Roland Barbay, Jarvis Green, Marcus Spears, Davon Godchaux, Lewis Neal and Tashawn Bower to the NFL. Dennis Johnson, who serves as LSU’s outside linebackers coach, will coach the defensive line.

Will LSU lose offensive coordinator Matt Canada? Ed Orgeron says he expects Canada will seek a head coaching job.

The bowl season in Louisiana begins with the R-and-L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 16th. Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has La Tech versus Troy in that game. He has Southern Miss versus Florida State in the Independence Bowl on December 27th. And the Sugar Bowl is a semifinal contest in the College Football Playoff. State Police have arrested a Slidell man in a fatal hit and run of a bicyclist, after cops tracked the suspect down by following a trail of vehicle fluid from the scene of the crash. Trooper Dustin Dwight says 48-year-old Larry Kellett allegedly struck 59-year-old Calvin Lefort Jr. of Slidell on US 190 Saturday night…:

booked in the St. Tammany Parish jail on negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run.

Baton Rouge Police say a 38-year-old man has been charged with cruelty to a juvenile after allegedly beating his son with a belt at his elementary school for getting suspended. Sgt. Don Coppola says they later received a call from the 11-year-old boy’s mother when he was being treated by EMS:

State Police are on the lookout for a person who drove away from an accident in Montgomery in Grant Parish early Sunday.  Troopers say 21-year-old Hunter Thomisee was in the back of a pickup, when he fell out onto the road and died.  Police don’t know how he fell out.  When they arrived on the scene, the truck took off on Highway 34 traveling west.  Anyone with information can call State Police 318-487-5911…

Shreveport Police detectives are continuing their probe into an officer-involved shooting where a suspect now faces attempted murder charges. They say 23-year-old Andre Bell allegedly attempted to run down off-duty, uniformed cops responding to a theft at a local casino. Bell suffered non-life threatening injuries was shot in the shoulder. Two officers, one who is believed to have shot the suspect, are on leave. The investigation is ongoing.

A Baton Rouge man was identified as one of the sailors lost after a Navy plane crashed in the Phillippine Sea shortly after taking off. The U.S. Navy says Airman Matthew Chialastri is one of three Sailors that were never found after their C-2A Greyhound crashed while conducting a routine transport flight last Wednesday.

On Governor John Bel Edwards’ monthly call in radio show, Ask the Governor, he voiced his frustration with the 13-percent turnout for the November 14th election. He says there were important elections like the state’s treasurer’s race, New Orleans mayoral runoff and a state representative seat in St. Tammany Parish…:

State Police say a Montgomery man was killed after falling out of a vehicle early Sunday morning in Winn Parish, and is asking for the public’s help to get more information about the incident. They say 21-year-old Hunter Thomisee was riding in the bed of a pickup truck when he fell out and was pronounced dead at the scene. Details are limited.
