Former State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonson is in the news again as The Advocate has obtained an LSP report which shows the once head of LSP deleted text messages during the investigation into a tax-payer funded “side trip” by some troopers. Before Edmonson retired in March, he said he was disappointed in the troopers for taking the trip, but the newly unveiled document shows cell phone records of Edmonson in contact with the group during the trip.

A 30-year old teacher at L-W Ruppel Academy for Advanced Studies in Jefferson Parish is accused of taking naked pictures and sending them via SnapChat to her 13-year-old student. Viridiana Ramos of Marrero, was arrested and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile. The student alleges that Ramos started contacting him on the app in October.  At least one other student claims to have seen the naked photographs.

Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd says Josh Lewis of Cotton Valley confessed to police that he shot 17-year-old Jaylen Thomas. He says the alleged murder followed a disagreement between two teens that Lewis and Thomas knew.

Several reports indicate Saints offensive tackle Zach Strief will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Strief went on injured reserve after going down in the game in London against the Miami Dolphins. He reportedly had surgery two weeks ago to repair his A-C-L and M-C-L.
