Prior to Edmonson’s retirement he said the trip was unauthorized. Attempts to reach him for comment have been unsuccessful.

Broussard Police say the man that held up the First Community Bank on Monday is now in custody. 29-year-old Jeremi Raymond of New Iberia allegedly wounded one of the bank tellers when he fired his weapon. Broussard Police Chief Brennan Decou says Raymond faces several charges…

Tomorrow night two Louisiana chefs, a husband and wife, will be stars of a new television series on Food Network called Cajun Aces. Cody and Samantha Carroll own restuarants in both New Roads and New Orleans and they are hopeful their show will be a smashing success….

Cody says the cameras follow them around Cajun country, and highlight Louisiana in a huge way…:

The first episodes of Cajun Aces airs on Food Network tomorrow night at 7pm; one highlighting crawfish dishes and the other about wild boar. A suspected bank robber is in custody after being on the run this week.  Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou says 29-year-old Jeremie Raymond of New Iberia allegedly held up the First Community Bank Monday, firing a weapon and injuring a bank teller.  He left on foot after the robbery.  Decou says Raymond was apprehend with help from the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force…

Decou says it is unknown if the sister was involved in the incident.  Decou says Raymond faces several charges…

Raymond is held in the East Baton Rouge Parish jail on a half-million-dollar bond and waiting extradition to Lafayette Parish.

State Police is still searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit and run which killed a pedestrian in St. John the Baptist Parish last weekend. Senior Trooper Melissa Matey says they do know that the hit and run vehicle is a 1988 to 2000 model GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck. She says the tailgate is a different color than the rest of the vehicle and some of the paint is faded on both sides of the truck.

 

The vehicle has the Louisiana license plate X-4-4-4-6-6-6. Matey urges anyone who could’ve seen this vehicle to contact State Police immediately. She says the truck is a light color, possibly silver or gray.

State Police have released an update in the fatal hit and run crash which claimed the life of a pedestrian in St. John the Baptist Parish on Sunday. Senior Trooper Melissa Matey says they now have pictures of the suspect vehicle, which is a 1988-2000 model year GMC/Chevrolet pick-up truck…:

Anyone with information about the vehicle’s whereabouts is urged to contact LSP. The pedestrian who died is 32 year old Eugene Webber III of LaPlace.

There are some great high school football games tonight as its the non-select semi-final playoffs. In One-A, Kentwood travels to northeast Louisiana to face Oak Grove in a matchup of two teams who are 12-and-1. In three-A, Kaplan hosts Richwood in a semifinal contest. Both teams are 10-3. In Four-A, undefeated Lakeshore hosts Rayne and and in Five-A, Zachary is at unbeaten West Monroe.

Ole Miss is not going to a bowl game this year and they will not be able to play in one next season and they’ll also have a reduction of scholarships as a result of NCAA penalties that were handed down today against the school. The Rebels were accused of 15 Level One violations as the NCAA investigation determined boosters providing recruits and players with improper benefits.

And the situation continues to get more crazy in Tennessee as athletics director John Currie has been fired after spending eight months on the job. Currie was reportedly set to hire Washington State head coach Mike Leach, but former head coach Phillip Fulmer apparently has been sabotaging the search process in the hopes of becomes the school’s next A-D.

An Associated Press Source says they expect Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher will leave for Texas A-and-M. The ULM Warhawks visit the Seminoles tomorrow in what is expected to be Fisher’s last game in Tallahasse.

An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury has indicted Kenneth Gleason, a white man accused of murdering two black men and shooting into the home of a black family in September. The 23-year-old is charged with one count each of second and first-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder in the incidents police have described as possibly racially motivated.

US Senator John Kennedy says he will back President Donald Trump’s nomination for the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals, Kyle Duncan of Louisiana. Duncan appeared before the Senate Judiciary committee on Wednesday, Kennedy sits on the panel and his support means it’s likely Duncan will be confirmed.
